1972 Ford Mustang Convertible
The Ford Mustang is one of the most successful and most popular American cars of the post World War II era. Introduced at the 1964 New York Worlds Fair, the all new “Pony Car” with sharp sporty styling, conceived by Lee Iacocca, was an instant overnight nationwide sensation. The very wide range of options that the Mustang offered made it very appealing to a wide range of buyers. A buyer was able to have a good looking gas efficient six cylinder automatic car as a commuter or a powerful sports car with a V8 engine and 4 speed transmission. Ford had hoped for 100,000 car sold in the first year, but by 1966 there were 1 million Mustangs already on the road. They were one of the greatest automotive successes of all time. Over the years Ford has updated the design of the Mustang, but the same basic principle of the car stayed the same. In 1965 and 1966 the car was basically the same esthetically, in 1967 the design was updated a bit and again in 1968. In 1969 and 1970 the design had a more drastic update, but in 1971 the Mustang changed again and is quite good looking with a long nose and short rear and an aggressive looking grille and headlight treatment. the 1971 update is one of the more attractive designs of the Ford Mustang through the years.
Offered here is a 1972 Mustang convertible that has had just one owner from new until our acquisition of the car just a short time ago. Wearing its original color of Bright Green Gold Poly exterior and its original green interior this car is really sharp. Always garaged it is a rust free car showing how well it was cared for by its original owner. Upon our acquisition of the car we rebuilt the carburetor, cleaned the gas tank, serviced the brakes with all new wheel cylinders and master cylinder and gave it a typical service with a fluid change. The automatic top goes up and down as it should and it runs and drives great. Its a great original one owner example. If you are looking for a fun and reliable convertible for the summer than this car should certainly be considered.
