1963 Porsche 356 B 1600 Cabriolet

$135,000.00

The upgraded Porsche 356 B was unveiled at the 1959 Frankfurt motor show as the all new 1960 Model. To keep up with the requirements of the U.S., Porsches most important export market, the 356 B had a number of improvements including raised wings and headlamps and newly designed bumpers with new vertical bumper guards for better parking protection. In 1962 the B was improved once again, becoming designated as the T6, with a wider boot lid, improved dash design, a larger front lid chrome handle and the addition of the “twin grille” rear engine lid for better cooling. Overall the B was a wonderful iteration of the wonderful 356. The 356 B was offered as a coupe, roadster and cabriolet as well as a “notch back” designed by Karmann. The 356 cabriolet is certainly one of the most sought after of all.

Offered here is a wonderful example of a 1963 Porsche 356B cabriolet that had been owned by the same owner since 1971 here in Connecticut. Always garage kept this 356 cab has been very well cared. An original black car with blue leather interior this 356 is very sharp. The carburetors and brakes were just gone through and a new canvas convertible top has just been installed. The engine runs great and the transmission shifts as it should. While the engine that is in the car is not the original, the original matching numbers crankcase has been retained and is included with the car so it is still a matching numbers example. Overall its a really good original 356 B cabriolet that can be driven and enjoyed. Contact us for more information.
