1952 Mercedes 300 Cabriolet D
The very first new model introduced after World War II, the 300D, was an extremely high quality and substantial car, meant to be equivalent in stature to the prewar 770K. Equal to 3 Cadillacs in price, the 300 was initially only offered in four door convertible and four door sedan body styles with some of the most well known and powerful people in the world purchasing them including Frank Lloyd Wright, Yul Brynner, the Shah of Iran and West German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer. 6,000 closed sedans were produced, but only 591 four door convertibles were produced in total from 1951 through 1955.
