2011 Bentley Continental GT Supersports
At the time of the introduction of the Continental GT back in 2005, Bentley's new owner, Volkswagen was able to bring Benley back to its performance roots. The new GT combined incredible German performance with legendary British handcrafted quality and style. Capable of 0-60 in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of just under 200 MPH the twin turbo double overhead cam twelve cylinder engine paired with a six speed ZF gearbox was nothing short of incredible. Besides having great and powerful engineering, the looks and style, especially of the "fastback" coupes are timeless harking back to the R-Type Continental fastbacks of the 1950's that have a timeless shape. In the years following Bentley would offer special edition models of the GT as well as some even more ground burning performance editions in limited quantities such as the "Supersports" that strips out nearly 200 pounds, drops the suspension 0.4 inch and stiffens it by up to 33 percent, and pulls another 21 hp out of the 6.0-liter W-12 engine. Weight primarily comes out of the seats, brakes, and wheels. At 621 horsepower the Supersports GT pushes the limit with a 0-60 time at 3.9 seconds making it one of the most sought after and collectible versions of the now legendary Continental GT.
