This is a 1951 Delahaye 135M Saoutchik convertible. Mr. Jacques Saoutchik's personal car. The history of this car is as follows:
Built in 1951 by Jacques Saoutchik for his personal use. Attached are a few photos of the car being built and worked on by him personally. In 1952 it was shown at the Paris Salon on the Saoutchik stand. Multiple pictures also attached of the car at the Paris salon. The car was then imported to the United States in 1953 and shown at the first "International Motorama" in Washington D.C. where it took first place for the most outstanding automobile in the show. We still have the trophy (pictures of it also attached). Following this it was purchased by the actor Efrem Zimbalist Jr. from a dealer in Hollywood in 1953. It is registered as a 1953 (and always was) because that is when it was sold new for the first time, but it is in actuality a 1951 car. The car remained in his possession until the mid 1990's when he gifted the car to his Nephew, Henry Zimbalist. Henry passed away fairly recently and we purchased the car from his estate. Most importantly it retains its original engine and all of its original parts and has never been for sale since new. Its an outstanding car.
