  • Description

In 1937 Chevrolets truck lineup was completely redesigned and became one of the most handsome trucks to ever leave General Motors factories. The streamline styling can be compared to or said to be influenced by high speed locomotives of the 1930's. The power plant was upgraded to a more powerful 78 horsepower inline overhead valve six cylinder which is nearly indestructible. 1942 would be the last year for this art deco styling and would be cut short because of WWII. The 1 1/12 ton trucks were very reliable and used hard because they were so indestructible. Because of their utilitarian purpose, today it is very hard to find one in restored and well kept condition. On top of that, most of these trucks were ordered as a long chassis making them even bigger than they already were. A 1942 short chassis 1 1/12 ton truck is the ultimate.

Offered here is a fantastic example of a restored 1942 1 1/2 ton Chevy truck on a short chassis. Finished in bright red with a natural wood bed and a black chassis, this truck is incredibly sharp. Just out of a very long time ownership here in Connecticut where it was very well cared for and used for advertising on the owners personal farm. The six cylinder engine has been completely rebuilt and runs extremely well and the 4 speed transmission shifts as it should. The chassis is very clean on this truck showing it was never abused or left outside. With its short chassis and high gearing it is extremely usable. It can cruise comfortably at 50 mph or better and can fit in a regular house garage. It's a really cool truck and is turn key ready for driving or show! Contact us for more information. Asking $24,500
